It has been an exciting few days at Tony RW, with two young goalkeepers making important steps forward in their development. Both players are proving that hard work and dedication open doors — no matter your age.
2014-born goalkeeper Iranzi Elisa trained with the U15 team today, having been with the U13s since the start of the season. We spoke to him, and he said:
"I enjoyed the training and want to keep working with them. There are some challenges since it's my first time, but I've managed to handle them."
Meanwhile, Shema Didier, a goalkeeper born in 2012, has been promoted to the U17 team. He played regularly with the U14s & U15s and also trained with the U16 and U17 squads, and is now a full member of the U17 team. Shema said:
"I used to train with them sometimes, but now that I'm with them every day, I'm focusing on what the coaches are telling me so I can improve. I'm also working hard to earn my place, as the coaches have given me this opportunity." He is set to be included in the squad for the U17 away match this weekend against Marine FC U17 in Rubavu.
